Stop the Sprawl

Prospective Lib Dem MP Liz Leffman and County Councillor Peter Mason have launched a campaign to "Stop the Sprawl" in the west of the Meon Valley constituency.

Plans for 6,000 houses between Durley, Curdridge, Botley and Hedge End have met with local opposition. Liz Leffman and Peter Mason are supporting local residents who object to the fact that the Government have imposed these houses on the area without any local consultation.

"We do need more affordable housing for local people, but development on this scale is disproportionate, and I am opposed to it," said Liz Leffman

"The government recently held an online consultation for the South East plan, but it was poorly advertised and most people did not have a chance to have their say.. That's why we have decided to launch our campaign, so that local people have a chance to be heard."

People can sign the petition and leave their comments at www.ourcampaign.org.uk/stopthesprawl - or you can click on the link on this website.
