Liz Leffman, Liberal Democrat candidate in Meon Valley, has today welcomed a new era for British politics, and confirmed that she will be attending the Liberal Democrats' special conference in Birmingham on Sunday, where the coalition agreement will be debated.
While thanking all those people who voted for her, Liz said she was delighted to see that Liberal Democrat policies will shape Britain for good.
Liz also congratulated Conservative MP for Meon Valley George Hollingbery on his election success.
The new Government has pledged to enact key Liberal Democrat promises:

- A fair and sustainable economy, with a bank levy, a green investment bank, and robust action to tackle unacceptable bonuses
Commenting on the formation of a new Government, Liz said:
"I campaigned in the election for key Liberal Democrat policies, for fairer taxes, a new economy, a fair start for children and a new politics. As my party enters Government we are already seeing those promises realised.
"The Liberal Democrats in Government will ensure the pledges I made to people in [constituency] can become reality.

"We are seeing a new era of British politics and we have an amazing opportunity for a new kind of Government, working together and delivering policies we have been campaigning on for years."
