Liz demands a fair deal for our troops

Prospective MP for Meon Valley Liz Leffman is asking local people to sign up and support the Liberal Democrats' campaign to get a fair deal for our troops.
The Liberal Democrats want to increase the pay of our troops so that no soldier, sailor or airman goes into harm's way on less basic pay than a new recruit to the police or fire service.
In addition to demanding better pay and equipment, Liz Leffman is also concerned about the quality of housing that service personnel and their families are allocated. Many of the homes that are allocated to forces' families are old, and they are often desperately in need of refurbishment.
"Forces' families often have to move from base to base, which is hard on them, and it makes it even harder when the houses that they move to are poorly maintained and lack basic amenities, such as a decent kitchen." said Liz
"There are examples of military houses in Meon Valley which are simply not adequate for a family to live in and I am campaigning together with my Liberal Democrat colleagues for the number of homes being refurbished each year to be doubled."
